my first vote :)

hye again.. ) just after few minutes 'decorating' my new baby blog.. here i am again.. fuh.. it wasn't easy to choose which template to represent myself.. i really love the thisaway rose template design used by lyn.. but applying to my page, i think the theme doesn't suit my character very well.. i want a design which is sooooo me + the sidebar on the left side.. i tried on son of moto, snapshot tequila and harbor. i love the placement of the columns but i don't like the colors very much.. so, i'm in between of the page layout and the color. so, i vote for the color over the layout.. hm.. :| okay.. that was just the into for the post.. ;) yesterday (saturday,08 march 2008) was the election day and to add on to my excitement was my first time to poll. every time the election day approaches, it's a must for every candidates and parties to pull stunts doing the campaign. I always wondered back then, why do they are wasting their time and money to do the mega campaign and persuade the citizens to vote for them? Cos from my point of view the voters had already have their fav candidates.. but i wad WRONG.. my mom insisted to go to the polling center when it's still early.. she even gave me the idea that she wanted to be the first person there when the gate opened.. arghh.. so lazy la.. since it was raining, it doubled my laziness... and thinking about congested parking area, i sweet-talked my dad to send us there (since my dad had to go to the office in the morn and polled in the evening). so, at about 0830, we were already at the polling area.. since this is my first time, i was quite unsure of what i should do.. thank god i've seen people polling in tv.. so, with my trusted instinct, i went to my polling line.. my polling center was at SMK Kudat. Saluran 5 and my series num was 2939 (hurray for me for remembering the details). So, they gave me 2 papers (one was for the parliament chair and one was for the DUN). They asked me to go to the half-covered desk. Standing there with pencil in my hand, i felt a bit confused. I was handed 2 papers. The first one with 2 candidates and the other one had about 8 candidates.. and none of them that i knew except for datuk rahim bakri who is the YB here. at the moment, i wasn't sure who i should vote for. and after fast-deep-thinking, i made up my mind and step out form the polling room.. Lega.. so, it seemed like i was wrong all this while when i said the campaign was just a waste and bla..bla..bla.. it is very important for candidates to campaign so 'freshies' like me have a clear view of the candidates. Anyway, fulfilling my responsibility as a malaysian makes me feel like a different person. i never give a second thought of who should rule the country and so on.. but last night, i loyally sat in front of the tv and surfing the net to for the polling result. i was so excited to know either the person that i voted for win or not. i waited until almost 5am to catch up with the results. i'd never felt so close to my country than i did last night. So.. that was my first polling experience :) i just hope i will never miss the elections in the future :) so, peace for now.. p/s : undi adalah rahsia
